An Emergency Department is a medical facility that treats the immediate needs of the critically ill and seriously injured. It has equipment and supplies that your typical non-emergency facility does not have. This facility also provides care for patients that are less critical.

What happens when I arrive at the emergency department?
After a nurse assesses your condition, you will be assigned to an area within the Emergency Department depending on the severity of your illness and/or injury.
You will be examined by a physician, nurse practitioner or physicians assistant. Treatment may include x-rays, laboratory work and/or other procedures.
A consent form to authorize apporpriate medical treatment must be signed. Consent from a parent or legal guardian is required for children under 18 unless the condition is life threatening.
All patient information is protected by HIPAA Privacy Rules
How long will I have to wait?
The number of patients being treated and the extent of their illness or injury will determine the wait. Please remember that the most severely ill or injured will be treated first. We will make every effort to place you in a treatment area as soon as possible.
Am I allowed visitors in the Emergency Department?
For the privacy of all patients, only one visitor may be with you in the treatment area. Emergency Department staff reserves the right to restrict visitors in the interest of patient safety and privacy.
What happens when I’m finished with my care?
You will receive written instructions prior to leaving the Emergency Department. If you do not understand the instructions that you have been given, please ASK for clarification. We may refer you to another physician if necessary
How will I pay?
Payment is expected at the time service is rendered. Patients with insurance coverage are expected to pay their co-payment. For questions concerning payment, please visit the Billing page for contact information.
